Portraits are intimately personal things, and Jamye Perelli has a gift for capturing her subject’s personality by freezing a shy glance or knowing gaze forever in time with interesting light, angles and focus.
Jamye brings a world of experiences into her studio and location photography. After all, if you take an adventurous cowgirl from Texas, fill her with romantic notions, whisk her off to Las Vegas for a decade of excitement, then return her to her roots, you’ve got the makings of an artist and professional with a range of experience and an eye for documenting both the drama and the simple passions of the heart. That’s Jamye Perelli.
Jamye’s ability to capture the true spirit of her subjects is what makes her so well suited to portrait and wedding photography.
“I’ve always been interested in photography. I started my career shooting models, actors and musicians. But I prefer the reality of emotions that comes with working with families or couples or individuals. There’s so much more personal interaction going on when events like weddings or group photos of families are involved.”
Jamye has achieved a level of success with her work that brings her great satisfaction. She enjoys sharing her love of photography by teaching seminars and classes in digital photography, editing, retouching and restoration techniques. She is a member of both WPPI, NAPP and her local of the chamber of commerce.
In addition to portrait and wedding photography, Jamye maintains a list of commercial clients who rely on her to photograph their artists, new products, and real estate developments. Jamye works with both children and animals, as well as actors and models.
Jamye likes to have fun and manages to squeeze in a little between long days of shooting and editing. She makes her home on an east Texas lake and enjoys lake activities and volunteering in her community. Jamye has several quiet hobbies, including graphic arts, craft projects, jewelry making, yoga and reading.
